4 Ways to Celebrate the 4th

The grill is sizzling, fireworks are popping, and you're wearing your best and brightest collection of red, white, and blue. The Fourth of July is a time-honored tradition of celebrating our freedom with family and friends. This is a great time to look back on our heritage, and then look forward to where we are going. If you're anything like my family, you're asking - "Where are we going to see fireworks?"

Below are four ways you can celebrate Independence Day in and around Henry County. We love our community and hope to see you at one of these events!

  1. Friday Night Drags Fireworks Show — July 4th / 6:30 PM
A special Thursday edition of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags will include fireworks this year. Admission is $10 and children under 5 are free. There is no bad seat in the house as fireworks are completely viewable from the grandstands and infield!

  2. Freedom Fest 2019 — July 4th / 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Community Bible Church is hosting "the best firework show on the Southside." This event also features tons of activities, including a 300 ft. zip line, mechanical bull and giant slide. Admission to the event is free, while attractions and concessions will be available for a small fee.

  3. Fireworks Hike @ Panola Mountain — July 4th / 8 PM – 10 PM
If you love the outdoors, then this is your event! Enjoy an evening hike and finish the night off with s'mores and fireworks atop Panola Mountain. Contact Panola Mountain State Park at (770) 389-7801 to reserve a spot for hikers ages 8 and older.

  4. Fourth of July Family Fest 2019 — July 4th / 12 PM – 10 PM
Live music, a kids zone, water zone, VIP area and tons of vendors will be at Warren Holder Park in Locust Grove! This is the largest firework display and festival in the south Atlanta area and will not disappoint! Event admission is free; there is a charge for parking.
